Delimann’s Afternoon Cream Tea

This tasty little treat is sure to be enjoyed by all

It’s always nice to receive a surprise and especially so when said surprise consists of tasty edible goodies! So you can imagine the smile on our face today when we were lucky enough to receive a parcel, from the kind souls over at delimann.co.uk, containing their rather tempting looking “Afternoon Cream Tea“. You may remember that recently we had a chance to review a similar offering however the great thing about Delimann’s tea is that you can have it delivered to any address you like which i think is really neat, especially when considering this as a present for a grandparent who is perhaps not as mobile as they once where. What better way to treat them than to pop over with this tasty selection of West Country foods and spend some quality time together over afternoon tea?

Opening up the box that the courier delivered i was pleasantly surprised by how well packaged and presented this gift is, with the individual components nicely presented and packed with straw to keep them safe and secure during transport. Now, I’m sure you’re eager to hear just what this tasty little package consisted of, well….

  • At the heart of the package are 2 chunky Devon Scones
  • Continuing with the Devon theme here with a jar of award-winning strawberry jam
  • On top of which goes lashings of clotted cream, mmmm, the calories were worth it!
  • For the sweet tooth, a rather large fruity tea bread
  • And of course what afternoon tea would be complete without 15 bags of West country Tea?

I have to admit that personally I’m not a huge tea drinker, however i did quite enjoy this cuppa and found there was no bitter aftertaste which has put me off tea in the past. So I’ll leave the verdict on the tea to the more experienced drinkers of my parents who we sat down to this tea with and I’m assured that those 15 bags will be gone before the day is out! As you may suspect, the scones where the first to go and they went down a treat, even if the lashings of extra clotted cream means that I’ll have to spend some extra time at the gym tomorrow, i think you will agree it’s for a worthy cause. They don’t scrimp on the scones either, as each alone would be more than a match for the biggest of appetites.

To finish things off we enjoyed the toasted tea bread with a little dollop of butter and all in all everyone was thoroughly happy with the tea and for the bargain price of £17.50 you can’t really go wrong with this as a gift for a loved one. No matter if you’re sending it as a gift for your gran and grandad to enjoy or perhaps if you’re taking it to enjoy with them one afternoon, it’s sure to go down a treat just like it did with us. A truly tasty selection of treats that is certain to bring a smile to the face of any loved one.
